Faila Abdul-Razak, the well-known chef from Cookathon fame, and her group paid Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia a visit at Jubilee House on Tuesday to express their gratitude for his kind assistance during her attempt to break the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
A one-week vacation at Jirapa Dubai in the Upper West region has been sponsored by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for Faila, her husband, and the chef who assisted her during the event.
The record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual has been surpassed by Tamale, Northern Region native Chef Failatu Abdul-Razak.
She prepared meals for more than 200 orphans and vulnerable individuals for 227 hours over the course of ten days.
Chef Failatu Abdul-Razak beat Ugandan chef Dorcus Mirembe, also known as Mama D, in the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon with a cooking time of 144 hours and 20 minutes.
From January 1, 2024, to January 10, 2024, Chef Faila attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, Northern Region.
Supporters of Chef Failatu Abdul-Razak’s cooking marathon included politicians, Members of Parliament, celebrities from Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of Ghana, Madam Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, Chief of Staff at the Presidency, and former First Lady Lordina Mahama.
