In connection with the altercation at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, three further students have been detained.
After the court issued a bench warrant for the arrest of more than sixty individuals in connection with the event, they were taken into custody.
The three pupils, Emmanuel Appiah Amoah, Eugene Nuamesi, and Kwabena Kwarteng Amaniampong, were remanded into police custody after appearing before the Asokore Mampong District Court.
In order for their clients to continue taking the University’s current exams, the defense attorneys for the accused had asked the court to grant bail to their clients.
The prosecution, however, objected to the plea and said that if the suspects were released on bond, they would probably interfere with the police’s investigation.
The court presided over by her worship Hilda Esther Wryter remanded the accused persons to reappear on October 4, 2022.
The police were also requested by the court to provide the students with the necessary assistance so they could take their exams.
