The Ivorian government has kept its cocoa farmgate price at 2,800 CFA francs per kilogram for the main cocoa season of 2025/26, which is about GHS3,600 per 64kg bag.
In a press release, the Coffee-Cocoa Council stated that the assured farmgate purchase price of 2,800 F CFA (approximately GHS 56) per kilogram will stay constant nationwide until March 31, 2026.
The Council stated that the set price is intended to provide stability and predictability for cocoa producers throughout the primary campaign period.
It also reminded stakeholders that, according to current regulations, purchasers must make complete payment for received cocoa within a maximum of one month from the date of actual delivery.
The statement indicates that any violation of the minimum guaranteed price or the statutory payment deadline will result in penalties as established by law.
Côte d’Ivoire continues to be one of the top cocoa producers globally, and its pricing strategies are carefully observed throughout the sub-region, particularly in Ghana, where cocoa is vital to the economy.
