The injunction preventing Miss Joana Gyan Cudjoe, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Amenfi Central, from running in the forthcoming parliamentary election has been lifted by the Sekondi High Court in the Western Region.

Following an earlier adjournment on November 7, the decision was delivered on Monday, November 11, 2024.

The NDC has petitioned the court to reverse their candidate’s disqualification and permit her to run in the election scheduled for December 7.

It was overseen by His Lordship George K. Gyan-Kontoh.

Edudzie Tamakloe, Ms. Joana Gyan Cudjoe’s principal attorney, encouraged the court to move the matter along quickly earlier in the hearings, pointing out that any further delays may violate her right to run for election.

His Lordship Gyan-Kontoh despite the fact that no agreement was achieved,  asked both parties to think about an out-of-court settlement and emphasized the importance of a prompt conclusion.

The decision made today permits Joana Gyan Cudjoe to run for the Amenfi Central Parliamentary race.

She thanked God for all that happened today, especially my new lawyers who came in to save me, following the court’s ruling. I give God, the NDC members, the executives, and the entire Western Region NDC my gratitude. I have to admit, I’m really delighted.
