The suspected galamsey kingpin En Huang, also known as Aisha Huang, will be judged in the case on December 4, 2023, according to the Accra High Court.

After all parties had properly filed their written addresses, the Criminal Division of the court, presided over by Justice Mrs. Lydia Osei-Marfo, decided on a date.

Justice Osei-Marfo stated in court on Thursday, “What is left is for me to give you a date for judgment.

As a result, the court set a deadline for its delivery December 4, 2023.

Aisha Huang has entered a not guilty plea to three charges, including engaging in illegal mining operations without a permit and encouraging others to engage in such activities.

But after being deported, she admitted to illegally reentering Ghana, and she was found guilty.

Aisha Huang testified without calling a witness, while the state called 11 witnesses to support their case.

After the Attorney General made the decision to end her trial, in which she was charged with operating in small-scale mining without a permit, she was deported from Ghana in 2018.

She allegedly returned to Ghana undetected to carry out the same acts for which she was expelled.

The Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, then made the decision to charge her with both the alleged offences committed before to her deportation and fresh ones upon her return to Ghana.

The prosecution’s allegation is that Aisha ran a company that provided mining support services in addition to having an illegal mining concession at Bepotenten in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region.
