The National Democratic Congress (NDC) chapter in Ashanti Region has declared its intention to hold a protest in which it would demand that the Electoral Commission (EC) guarantee the establishment of a legitimate voter registration before to the general elections on December 7.

Regional Secretary Dr. Frank Amoakohene announced today at a news conference that the party has received permission from the Regional Police Command to move forward with the protest, which is set to take place tomorrow.

The protest path was described by Dr. Amoakohene, who said that participants will start at the regional NDC headquarters, march through important streets, and end at the regional EC office in Danyame.

A petition requesting a forensic audit of the voter register to address concerns about anomalies will be handed during the event.

Referencing particular concerns in areas such as New Edubiase, Asante Akyem South, and Ahafo Ano North, Dr. Amoakohene reaffirmed the party’s commitment to preserving the election process’s integrity.

He underlined that a free and fair election depends on having a reliable voter registration.

In order to put pressure on the EC to take action on their requests for credibility and openness in the voter registration process, he also invited the people to join the demonstration in large numbers.
