NDC Ashanti Youth for Mahama, a pro-NDC organization, has called on National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flagbearer John Dramani Mahama to cut all connections with Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah, the founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministries International.

In a statement made by the organization on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the group expressed concern that Owusu-Bempah, who has previously advocated against Mahama, was welcomed to play a key part at the recent conference of clerics on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

The group also questioned why Owusu-Bempah would provide prayers for Mahama when Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa-Yiadom had offered similar prayers.

“We express our disappointment at the fact that Apostle Owusu-Bempah, upon all that he did against John Mahama would be entertained to the point of playing such a big role at the gathering,” the statement said.

“Indeed, his presence at the event was even needless as Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa-Yiadom, popularly known as Opambour, had already offered prayers for our Flagbearer. Our point is simple. We didn’t need Apostle Owusu-Bempah since Opambour had already done what he did for our Flagbearer at the gathering,” the statement stated.

The NDC party leadership was further asked by the group to break their ties with Owusu-Bempah since he does not truly support their cause.

“Cut all ties with Apostle Owusu-Bempah since he is not genuinely for us,” sections of the statement said.
Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah has a lengthy history of criticizing Mahama and purportedly supporting the New Patriotic Party (NPP), thus his abrupt change of heart has drawn attention.
