He expressed gratitude to former President Akufo-Addo for his appointment, saying, “I wish to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the former President, H.E. He called his promotion from General Constable to IGP a “incredible opportunity to serve” as he reflected on his 35-year career in the Ghana Police Service.

“I am particularly grateful for the opportunity to serve the Ghana Police Service for the past 35 years, rising in rank from a General Constable to Inspector-General of Police, being the youngest Commissioner of Police as well as the youngest IGP in the 4th Republic” he said.

In addition, he expressed gratitude to the Police Management Board (POMAB) and all Ghana Police Service ranks, saying that their combined efforts had been crucial to preserving national security. “The contribution that the Rank and File of the Ghana Police Service has made to security, law, and order during my tenure has been enormous,” he said, praising the officers’ commitment.

Dr. Dampare reiterated his dedication to helping Ghana despite his departure, stating that his enthusiasm for national service has not diminished.

“I have served the Ghana Police Service for 35 out of my nearly 55 years of life with an unblemished record. I remain energetic, committed, and enthusiastic about serving my nation with discipline, honour, and integrity.”
