Sam Nartey George, a member of parliament for Ningo-Pramparam, has questioned Kwabena Duffuor’s qualifications to serve as the NDC’s flagbearer.

He claims that because Kwabena Duffuor lacks the credibility to serve as the NDC’s running partner, he does not think he will make a decent president.

He clarified that despite making the promise of comfort, or “Ahotor” in Twi, some of his employees at EIB still owe him 17 months’ worth of unpaid wages because he owns the business.

Sam George said Ghanaians should consider what would happen to the civil service if Kwabena Duffuor were elected president under the NDC while speaking on GHONE TV’s morning program monitored by Ghanatodayonline.com.

“how can we trust you in running the party, EIB, you (referring to the host) hosting me this morning, you are owed months of salary and yet Kwabena Duffour is running around promising Ahotor. He is promising Ahotor which is comfort and relaxation yet you his staff some of you are owed 17 months of salary. How are you feeding, how are you coming to work every day? So, if he cannot pay his own workers but he is promising Ghanaians that he will pay.

“ I am focused on the capabilities of the individual because the capabilities of Kwabena Duffuor is to run and own a TV Station that owes staff 17, 12 months of salary. You say he is not involved in the day-to-day running, I agree but when you are president, you are not involved in the day-to-day of your ministry, you appoint CEOs who are ministers like the way he has appointed a CEO for EIB.

He will choose the CEO and the minister, and he will eventually be in charge of how those organizations are managed.

Sam George continued, “Imagine what will happen to the government servant who will be working if EIB group cannot handle it and owes his employees 17 months of salary; he will owe them 25 months of salary.

Sam George believes that John Dramani Mahama will be his best option because he has experience with him as a president and has thus far established himself.

“President Mahama is trustworthy, he employs people, and nobody owes him a wage.

Mahama is trustworthy because we have witnessed his performance as this nation’s president, ” Sam George said.
