The driver Mr. Abel Dzidotor, who was charged with causing a train tragedy on the Tema-Mpakadan route, received a six-month jail sentence.
He acknowledged that he was guilty on three of the four counts.
He was first accused of reckless driving.
Secondly, he was charged with pulling into an authorized spot.
He paid a fine for each.
Thirdly, he received a six-month jail sentence after being charged with damaging state property.
Finally, he was charged with driving without a license, but he informed the judge that the license was in the wrecked vehicle and that he would have to show it or else run further legal repercussions.
When Dzidzotor’s vehicle became stopped returning from a delivery job, he left it on the rail track.
