Drivers urged to be more cautious

The National House of Chiefs president and chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II has appealed to road users, more particularly, drivers to be more cautious and extra vigilant when they are behind the steering wheel.

According to him Nananom are saddened by recent phenomenon of road carnage on our highways.

Within a period of less than a month many people have lost their precious lives to needless road accidents. Most of these road crashes could be significantly attributed to human factors, such as needless over speeding and reckless driving, fatigue, influence of drugs and alcohol as well as inexperience drivers among others.

Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II disclosed this at the Conference Hall of the National House of Chiefs at Manhyia Kumasi.

He also appeals to the various driver unions, the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) and the Road Safety Commission to embark on a massive education to sensitize drivers on the causes and effects of road accidents in Ghana.
