The Adentan Circuit Court has placed Evans Eshun, widely recognized on social media as Ebo Noah, in police custody and mandated a psychiatric evaluation at a government institution prior to his upcoming court appearance.
The directive was issued after the defendant was presented to the court, presided over by Her Honour Angela Attachie, instructing that Eshun be held in custody to return on January 15, 2026.
Ebo Noah, recognized by the prosecution as a 33-year-old private security guard, is confronting charges related to several social media videos he uploaded between August and December 2025 on Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube using the handle @Ebonoah.
In the videos, he asserted that on December 25, 2025, a flood would annihilate the world and that he was constructing an ark to rescue individuals.
The prosecution, however, contends that the statements were issued without legal authority and aimed to instill fear and panic in the public.
The complainant in the case, the Ghana Police Service, indicated that the suspect was apprehended on December 31, 2025, as a result of an intelligence-driven operation in Weija-Gbawe within the Greater Accra Region.
In the course of the investigations, Ebo Noah reportedly confessed in a cautioned statement to creating and distributing the videos.
He clarified that the vessel he called an “ark” actually belonged to a fisherman at a boat yard in Edina in the Central Region, not to him.
He allegedly acknowledged that his assertions regarding an imminent flood were untrue. He is facing charges for the offense of disseminating false information to instigate fear and panic.
