Everything is ready for Tuesday, December 19, district-level elections, according to the Electoral Commission (EC).

According to figures provided by the Electoral Commission, there are 66,257 candidates in total 18,755 candidates for assembly members and 47,502 candidates for unit committee members.
6,215 electoral areas distributed among 216 metropolitan, municipal, and district assemblies comprise the electoral battlefield.
Dr. Sereboe Quarcoo, the EC’s Director of Electoral Services, told Citi news monitored by Ghanatodayonline.com that plans are well underway to guarantee the polls are successfully organized.
He gave his word that all necessary arrangements had been made to guarantee that there would be an adequate supply of voting materials at every polling place on Tuesday.
“With the exception of ballot papers, all the materials are there, and when we are going, we don’t go with partial delivery; we go with full delivery, so we are not expecting to have shortages. All things being equal, in case there are shortages, the district office will respond to such shortages.”
