Staff members of the Electoral Commission have expressed grave concerns about the Commission’s leadership by requesting that President Mahama remove Jean Mensa and her deputies.

Joseph Blankson Adumadzie, a senior employee, told media that the petition was filed in accordance with Article 146 of the 1992 Constitution, which describes the process for removing the heads of independent constitutional bodies.

He disclosed that the petition is based on 12 counts of reported misbehavior, but he refused to divulge the whole information as required by law.

These include accusations of egregious ineptitude, abuse of office, and cronyism.

He claims that the three senior officials’ actions have damaged public trust in the EC and jeopardized the independence and integrity of Ghana’s electoral process.

Mr. Adumadzie emphasized the importance of preserving the dignity of the Electoral Commission, which is crucial to guaranteeing a legitimate democratic system, and said that his actions are motivated only by the need to defend the Constitution and bolster accountable governance.

Additionally, he urged President Mahama to carry out his constitutional duty by forwarding the petition to the Chief Justice in compliance with Article 146 protocols in order to establish a prima facie case.
