The successful conclusion of the month-long Ramadan fast is celebrated by Muslims worldwide on Eid-ul-Fitr, a holiday that MTN Ghana has long supported by giving to the Muslim community.

On Wednesday, March 26, this year’s donation was made concurrently to the National Chief Imam and the Regional Chief Imams in the Ashanti, Western, and Northern Regions.

In a brief ceremony in the Central Mosque’s forecourt in the Ashanti Region, MTN representatives gave the items to the Regional Chief Imam’s Executive Secretary, Sheikh Ustaz Ahmed Seidu .

MTN Northern Ghana’s Senior Manager, General Trade, Mr. Simon Amoh, who made the presentation, praised MTN’s longstanding ties to Ghana’s Muslim community.

According to him, MTN is an African firm that supports all religions. He further mentioned that the donation is a yearly custom to help Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan.

“We want to thank them for their continuous support for our business over the years, and as they celebrate, we are going to be present where they are going to have their final prayers to provide customer service,” Mr Amoh stated.

He used the opportunity to offer MTN Ghana’s condolences to the Ashanti Region’s Muslim community for the loss of the late Regional Chief Imam.

The Regional Chief Imam’s Executive Secretary, Ustaz Ahmed Seidu, who accepted the gifts on behalf of the Muslim community, commended MTN for the yearly assistance.

He thanked MTN for the yearly contributions that help Muslims during their time of fasting.
