Ejisu by-election: Police begins investigation into alleged bribery of EC staff by Kwadaso MP

An inquiry into the purported electoral violation involving a member of parliament and a few temporary Electoral Commission officers during the by-election at Ejisu in the Ashanti region has been launched by the Ghana Police Service.

The Police claim that they have since invited George Sasu, Regina Serwaa, and Dr. Kingsley Nyarko, the parties concerned, to participate in the inquiry and have their testimonies formally taken.

“Police are working together with the Electoral Commission as the investigation continues,” the police administration concluded in its statement.

The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigation into the alleged electoral offence involving some temporary officers of the Electoral Commission and a Member of Parliament during the by-election at Ejisu in the Ashanti region.

The persons involved, George Sasu, Regina Serwaa and Dr Kingsley Nyarko, have subsequently been invited by the Police to assist the investigation and their statements duly taken.

Police is working together with the Electoral Commission as the investigation continues.
