President of the Catholic Organization For Social and Religious Advancement (COSRA) Dr. Stephen Nabareseh has urged Ghanaians especially the youth not to be left out in the fast approaching 2024 elections.
Speaking in an interview with the media during the COSRA 7th National spiritual Congress which was held at the KNUST engineering auditorium, Dr. Stephen Nabareseh stated that aside being a responsibility for one to cast vote on election day, it is an avenue for citizens to give another chance or change a political party.
According to him, if youth decide to sit unconcerned about elections, wrong leaders may be voted into power.
“As youth, we are the future leaders of every country and so if we don’t play active roles in our elections, then it means we are not planning for our own future” Dr. Nabareseh said in an interview with Ghanatodayonline.com Evans Agyei Sikapa.
However, the COSRA President called on the youth to be mindful of how and what they do before, during and after the elections as elections shouldn’t be a violent related process. He believes elections is a time for citizens to express their satisfaction or dissatisfaction of a government and either vote to retain or change it.
“Elections shouldn’t be violence because if we fight over elections, how will the vote casted reflect? He quizzed.
Delivering a speech as a special guest, Dabenhene of Ayeduase (Royal Protocol Officer) urged COSRA members to continue holding on with the good works and initiatives of the Catholic church as he believes the Catholic as a church was God’s initiation to help the world.
According to him, since time immemorial, the Catholic Church has supportive to countries, communities and people across the world.
“As a youth group, I urge you to eschew violence as elections approach. The Catholic church has been a pillar to the world with good track records of which I respect them so much and I urge you to emulate same” he stated.
