The Ghana Police Service has released a statement refuting claims of a gunshot incident at the Electoral Commission headquarters in Kumasi and highlighting the fact that no protesters were injured by police.

Those demonstrators who entered the EC premises against the agreement were, however, dispersed.

To stop the spread of false information, the police are pleading with the media to be accurate and cautious in their reporting.

This request is being made in the midst of allegations of mayhem breaking out in Kumasi during the “Enough is Enough” demo, during which police used tear gas to scatter NDC supporters who had run afoul of the law.
