Friday, December 2, 2022, has been designated by the Ministry of Interior as a public holiday that all Ghanaians must respect.
Ambrose Dery, the Interior Minister, issued a statement the reads: “The general public is hereby reminded that Friday, December 2, 2022, which marks Farmers’ Day, is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.”
Ghana reserves the first Friday of December each year to recognize and honor local farmers and fishermen for their contributions to the advancement of agriculture.
In Cape Coast, in the Central Region, National Farmers’ Day was observed the last year.
