Finance Minister, Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson, has presented the 2026 budget statement and economic policy to Parliament.
The 2026 Budget is focused on resetting for growth, Jobs, and economic transformation.
According to the Finance Minister, consolidating macroeconomic stability will sustain fiscal discipline, strengthen revenue mobilisation, and ensure responsible debt management.
He emphasised that Inflation will remain on a firm downward trajectory towards optimal levels.
Dr Forson also indicated that the Covid levy has been scrapped.
In the coming days, Members of Parliament will debate the budget and consider estimates for various Ministries, Departments, Agencies and independent constitutional bodies before approving the 2026 Budget.
