Five commercial container stores at Kasoa-Columba Junction in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region were destroyed by a terrible fire breakout on Thursday night, leaving behind devastation and the loss of commodities valued at millions of Ghana Cedis.

Witnesses reported that the fire began at approximately 8:30 p.m. and continued to burn for over two and a half hours. Despite the fire’s strength, local folks had to act quickly and resolutely to contain it before firefighters could reach.

A supply store, a dressmaking shop, a pedicure parlor, a hair salon, and a bag shop were among the businesses impacted.

The conflagration engulfed everyone.

The Kasoa, Budumburam, Weija, and Dansoman fire stations received multiple distress calls, according to the residents, but none of them were able to react right away because of allegedly broken fire tenders.

The worst damage had already been done when a fire crew from Anyaa finally made it to the scene.

According to preliminary investigations, the fire may have started in a provision shop and then spread to containers nearby.

Although the precise origin of the fire has not yet been formally determined, it is believed to have been caused by an electrical malfunction.
