Former Old-Tafo MP Anthony Osei Akoto is dead

Anthony Osei Akoto, a former Old Tafo MP, has passed away.

On Monday, March 20, 2023, the previous minister of state in charge of monitoring and assessment passed away.

His death’s circumstances are currently unknown.

His passing was reported on the Ghanaian Parliament’s Facebook page.

Age-wise, he was 69.

Mr. Osei served as Minister of State for Finance and Economic Planning in the administration of former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

In March 2002, he was member to the Merchant Bank (Ghana) Ltd. Management Board.

Formerly, he worked as a research assistant at the Center for Policy Analysis (Ghana) and an associate professor at Dollard University in the United States.

Honorable Anthony Akoto Osei was one of 19 ministers that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo named in May 2017 to make up his cabinet.
