Free SHS won’t be canceled, according to President Akufo-Addo

The Free Senior High School program would remain in place, according to President Akufo-Addo, despite the nation’s current economic problems.

He said that the government would continue to offer free, high-quality education at the elementary and secondary school levels despite the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the invasion of Ukraine on the global economy.

Speaking at the University of Health and Allied Sciences’ 10th anniversary grand durbar in Ho, the capital of the Volta Region, President Akufo-Addo.

He explained that the government would continue to direct resources into the sector because it has recognized education as an “equalizer of possibilities” and will do so in order to ensure the effective training of Ghanaian children.

In order to instill in all Ghanaian children, the necessary qualities to enable them to fit into the global village, President Akufo-Addo stated that his goal is to ensure that they all have equal access to high-quality education.

He praised UHAS for its remarkable growth in the ten years since its founding, standing shoulder to shoulder with traditional institutions in Ghana and around the world.

The extension of utilities to the University’s numerous campuses, which is completely dedicated to the training of health professionals, would be funded with GhC6.2 million, he revealed.
