Nana Obiri Boahen, a prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has taken a deep breath and pledged to rein in his emotions amidst claims that former President John Mahama implemented the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.

Speaking on Wontumi TV, Nana Obiri Boahen expressed his surprise at the claims, stating that the NPP government led by President Akufo-Addo deserves the credit for implementing the policy in 2017.

“I’ll try to control my emotions and not allow my blood pressure to rise,” Nana Obiri Boahen said with a chuckle. “The facts are clear, and we won’t let anyone rewrite history.”

The Free SHS policy has been a contentious issue in Ghana’s political landscape, with both the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) claiming credit for its implementation.

Nana Obiri Boahen’s vow to remain calm comes as a welcome respite to many, hoping to avoid a heated political debate on the matter.
