Otto Addo has been officially named the head coach of the Black Stars by the Ghana Football Association(GFA).
Otto Addo was awarded a three-year contract by the GFA on Friday, March 14, 2024, according to a statement released by the organization. Otto Addo finished first in the hiring process.
Kurt Okraku praised Otto Addo in the statement for his performance in the interview and for winning over the search committee.
“Otto was exceptional in the interview process and was rated highly by the search committee, hence the decision,” President Simeon-Okraku told ghanafa.org.
“There were some brilliant individuals among the coaches who applied for the job, so the committee took the pain to interview a chunk of them to pick their thoughts on their intentions to transform the team within a short period of time due to our peculiar situation.
“The Committee was overly satisfied with Otto’s performance for which reason he was recommended to the Executive Council for approval,” President Simeon-Okraku added.
Otto Addo has led the Black Stars twice before, most recently from March 2022 until November 2022.
The Black Stars made it to the Qatar-hosted World Cup in Otto Addo’s first season with the team.
After the team’s 2022 World Cup failure to advance past the group stage, he quit the team.
