The suspended Greater Accra recruiting screening process for 2025–2026 will restart on Thursday, November 20, 2025, according to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

The Ghana Navy’s Acting Director General of Public Relations, Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, signed the notice.

She clarified that in order to guarantee a smooth procedure, the screening will be carried out in eight sub-centers spread across five locations. The announcement stated that “all qualified applicants in batches of 600 persons will receive an SMS specifying their reporting dates, batches, and designated centers.”

El-Wak Stadium (two centers), Nicholson Park at Burma Camp (two centers), the Air Force Base at Burma Camp (two centers), the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) in Teshie (two centers), and the Eastern Naval Command in Tema are the designated screening centers.

Applicants are advised to closely adhere to the guidelines in the SMS notifications and to visit the recruiting webpage for further information.

It is recommended that anyone who do not receive a message by November 20 call the helpline or use the given WhatsApp number to get aid.

In order to ease traffic, GAF further advised that friends and family should not accompany applicants to the centers, stressing that non-applicants will not be allowed to enter.

A disastrous stampede which led to casualties earlier caused the recruitment exercise to be suspended. The statement claims that a Board of Inquiry established to look into the situation is presently at work.

Commodore F.A. Nyarko, Colonel F. Kusi-Darko, and Colonel G.B. Eduah, who now oversee Human Resources, Manpower, and Information Technology, respectively, have changed the entire Greater Accra recruitment staff in order to guarantee transparency.

The people were reassured by Captain Arhin that anyone found guilty would be punished.

She went on to say that the Armed Forces had sent condolences to the families of the deceased and sincerely regret the situation.

The injured will get free medical care at the 37 Military Hospital until they fully recover, according to a commitment made by GAF.

Additionally, a “special recruitment package” will be provided to the injured and their families.

“The Ghana Armed Forces continues to count on the cooperation of the general public in this endeavour,” the statement added.
