Yesterday in Parliament, a three-person delegation from the National Executives of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) paid the Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin a courtesy visit.
The delegation urged Parliament to request the Ghana Bar Association’s advice and opinions on bills as they proceeded through the various stages necessary for passage in parliament.
Speaking to the group, Mr. Speaker praised their initiative and said that passing laws is the responsibility of Parliament and that the GBA can help with this effort by providing the Committees with technical support.
The National President, Mr. Yaw Acheampong Boafo, the National Vice-President, Mr. Kwasi Amoako Adjei, and the National Secretary, Mr. Kwaku Gyau Baffour, made up the delegation.
Hon. Nelson Kyeremeh, Member of Parliament for Brekum East, Vice Chairman to the Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee in Parliament, Hon. Kofi Atto, Mr. Speaker’s Adviser, and Hon. Bernard Ahaifor, Member of Parliament for Akatsi South, Ranking Member for Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, were present at the meeting to welcome the delegation.
