Ghana Education Service announces 2023 academic calendar

The 2023 academic calendar for all schools Kindergarten through Primary, Junior High, Senior High, and Senior Technical has been published by the Ghana Education Service (GES).

This was stated to all Regional Directors of Education in a letter signed by Dr. Kwabena Bempah Tandoh, Deputy GES Director in Charge of Quality and Access.

The Basic Education Certificate Examination for this year was scheduled to begin in September 2023.

The statement claims that all elementary, junior high, and kindergarten classes would follow a trimester academic schedule, with the first term starting on January 10, 2023, ending on March 24, 2023, and the break beginning on March 25, 2023, ending on April 02, 2023.

The third term begins on June 27, 2023, and runs until September 14, 2023. The second term runs from April 3, 2023, to June 15, 2023, with a break from June 16, 2023, to June 26, 2023.

The 2023 Transitional Academic Calendar for Double Track Senior High Schools (SHS) for Form Threes will start on January 10, 2023, and terminate on April 5, 2023 for the first term, according to the announcement.

The first term will end on April 6, 2023, while the second one will begin on April 17, 2023, and last until June 1.

The second term will end on June 02, 2023, while the third term will run from June 09, 2023, to September 15, 2023.

For Form Twos in the same category, the first term will begin on January 10, 2023, and end on February 17, 2023, with a break from February 18, 2023, to April 10, 2023. The second term will begin on April 11, 2023, and end on June 01, 2023, with a break from June 02, 2023, to August 11, 2023, before starting again for the third term on August 14, 2023, and ending on November 30, 2023.

Additionally, the first term for Form Ones in the same category will run from February 20, 2023, to April 13, 2023, with a break between April 14, 2023, and June 8, 2023.

With a vacation from August 11, 2023 to September 17, 2023, the second term will run from June 9, 2023, to August 10, 2023.

From September 18, 2023, through November 30, 2023, is the third term.

According to the statement, Form Threes would begin the first term of the single-track academic calendar for Senior High Schools on January 10, 2023, and would continue through April 5, 2023, with a break from April 6 to April 16, 2023; the second term would run from April 17, 2023, to June 1, 2023, with a break from June 2 to June 8, 2023; and the third term would run from June 9, 2023, to September 15, 2023.

The first term for Form Twos in the same category will run from January 10, 2023, to April 5, 2023, followed by a break from April 6, 2023, to April 16, 2023, before the second term begins on August 17, 2023, and runs through August 25, 2023.

The Form Ones will likewise have two terms, exactly like the Form Twos, with the first term lasting from February 20, 2023, to April 5, 2023, and the second term lasting from April 17, 2023, to September 15, 2023, with a break from April 06, 2023, to April 16, 2023.
