John Dramani Mahama, a former president of Ghana, has emphasized that the country’s citizens still have 483 days to pick a new government.
He remarked this while pointing out that, despite some drawbacks, democratic governance is still the greatest choice for African nations.
According to him, constitutional government enables the people to peacefully replace corrupt officials.
His remarks come at a time when coups have occurred in several West African nations, including Niger.
The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC’s) flag bearer for the general elections of 2024 stated in a tweet that “Constitutional governance is still ideal.
“It allows us to peacefully change our leaders if we believe they are not working in the interest of the people! 483 days to go for the verdict of the people,” he said.
