Ghana had 23.2% inflation at the end of 2023, according to data from the Ghana Statistical Service.
Compared to the 26.4% rate for November 2023, this signifies a 3.2% decrease.
In addition to revealing the important economic data, government statistician Prof. Samuel Kobina Anim notes that the rates of inflation for both food and non-food items decreased significantly in December.
Monthly price increases have slowed down, according to the statistics service, with prices for goods and services rising by 1.2% less between November and December 2023 than they did between October 2023 and November 2023 (1.5% price increase).
Regionally, the Eastern region had the highest rate of food inflation (51.3%), while the Upper East had the lowest rate (18.8%).
Greater Accra came in at number 14 out of 16 regions, with a food inflation index of 22.2 percent.
