Give information on the new BoG headquarters’ construction within seven days – MP writes to BoG

Mahama Ayariga, the Member of Parliament(MP) for Bawku Central, wrote to Dr. Ernest Addison, the governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), asking for information about the new BoG headquarters building at Ridge in Accra.

The cost of the land on which the BoG’s new building is being built is among the four main requests the lawmaker made in accordance with section 18 of the Right to Information Act 2019 ACT (989).

Ing. Kwame Governs Agbodza, the representative of the Adaklu constituency and Chief Whip of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) caucus in the Parliament of Ghana (Minority Chief Whip), instructed Mr. Ayariga to make the request, according to Mr. Ayariga.

 The identities of the consultants and project managers engaged in the agreement, as well as information on the procedures followed in the acquisition of the site for the building of the new headquarters, are also being sought by the Minority.

Mahama Ayariga, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bawku Central district, sought the disclosure of information on the new Bank of Ghana headquarters’ ongoing development in a letter that was published on August 17, 2023.
