According to Global Info Analytics, a polling organization, NDC is expected to keep the Assin-North seat in the upcoming by-elections.

The most recent surveys on the attitudes of Assin-North constituents, according to Musah Dankwa, Executive Director of Global Info Analytics, were performed in April 2023.

Speaking to Evans Agyei Sikapa of Ghanatodayonline.com on phone, the head of the Ghanaian polling organization stated that the study showed that residents in Assin-North don’t appear to support the ruling New Patriotic Party.

“If you look at the most recent survey we conducted in Assin North in April, there were indications that the NDC would be able to keep the seat, in that the constituency’s supporters don’t appear to be loyal to the ruling party.

“About 77 percent of people believed that the nation was moving in the wrong direction. People who said that the standard of living had declined in the previous year made up around 66% of the population, while the percentage of those who believed that nothing would improve in the following year was about 80%, according to Musa Dankwa.

Following a request from the Supreme Court that the house remove the name of former MP for Assin-North James Gyakye Quayson from its records, the Ghanaian Parliament, through the house clerk, declared the Assin-North seat vacant on May 30.

The election of a parliamentary representative for the Assin-North constituencies will take place on June 27, 2023, according to the electoral commission.
