Friday, April 18, 2025, and Monday, April 21, 2025, have been proclaimed statutory public holidays in Ghana by the Ministry of the Interior.
Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak affirmed in a statement released on Monday that the two holidays—Good Friday and Easter Monday—will be honored across the country.
Christians throughout remember Good Friday as a day of reflection and grief in remembrance of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion. The day after Easter Sunday, known as Easter Monday, commemorates the resurrection and is customarily connected to outdoor activities and family get-togethers.
In compliance with national laws and customs, the Ministry encouraged the people to observe the holidays.
