By the end of this year, the government intends to create six new universities around the nation, according to information revealed by Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister of Education.
He claims that the goal of this program is to raise the nation’s gross tertiary enrollment ratio.
The University for Sports Development, the University of Health, Agriculture, and Life Sciences at Kintampo in the Bono East Region, the University of Mampong in the Ashanti Region, the Local Governance and Leadership University in Accra, the University of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Akrodie in the Ahafo Region, and the University of Engineering and Agricultural Science at Bunso in the Eastern Region are among the new establishments.
During a State of Education conference in Accra, Dr. Adutwum disclosed the idea.
He underlined that reaching a 40% gross tertiary enrollment ratio by 2030 is the government’s aspirational goal.
