Allegations that he stopped two pupils from writing their first paper for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) have led to the arrest and release of the headmaster of the Big Six Educational Complex in Meduma.
The two candidates were detained on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, following rumors that the headmaster had locked them in a room on Monday, June 16, for allegedly not paying school fees and skipping a school-sponsored pre-exam camp.
The impacted students were supposed to complete their math assignment at Simms High School, which is where some candidates in the Kwabre East Municipality are required to take their exams. However, it is said that the headmaster’s actions caused them to miss the paper.
The Kwabre East Municipal Education Directorate has started a separate investigation to determine the complete circumstances surrounding the occurrence, while the Ghana Police Service has started an official investigation into what happened.
