Residents who spoke with Ghanatodayonline.com reporter Jacob Agyenim Boateng said that the dead was seeking cover in front of a shop, but that after hours of nonstop rain, they made the decision to return home.

They also mentioned Kwabena Emma, who is believed to have been drunk at the time, drowned while traveling home after falling into a large gutter nearby.

The technical block at Jacobu Senior High Technical School’s roofing was also damaged by the downpour.
