The Health facilities and Regulatory Agency (HeFRA) shut down the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Clinic and 17 other medical institutions on Tuesday, October 14, as part of its continuous enforcement operation in the Ashanti Region.
Since the start of the exercise, 18 medical establishments in the area have been shut down.
As part of an effort to crack down on healthcare establishments that operate without the necessary licenses and documentation, the action was taken.
On Monday, October 13, 2025, the crackdown got underway with the goal of targeting establishments that were not functioning with the required licenses and documents.
The KMA Clinic has been operating for a number of years without a legal license, which is a blatant disregard for the agency’s regulations, according to HeFRA authorities.
