Dada KD, a legendary figure in Ghanaian highlife, died after experiencing a severe medical crisis that left him unable to communicate.
According to reports, the well-known musician passed away on Friday, May 16, at the Gbawe Government Hospital in Accra.
Close sources said that Dada KD recently showed no symptoms of illness and appeared to be in good health.
Tragic events, however, occurred early on Friday when his manager found him at home in difficulty and unable to communicate. He was taken to the hospital right soon, where medical professionals tried to stabilize him, but he tragically died a few hours later.
Dada Kwaku Duah, better known as Dada KD, was a well-liked personality in Ghana’s music sector.
His enduring love ballads and soulful vocals garnered him a devoted fan base over the course of his multi-decade career. Ghanaian highlife music continues to rely heavily on his most well-known songs, such as Odo Mu Anigye, Somgye, and Ebeboawo.
In recognition of his skill and lasting impact, he was given the Best Male Vocal Artist award at the Ghana Music Awards UK in 2004.
