Former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2024 flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has stated his belief that future generations will recognize the accomplishments of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Dr. Bawumia commended the former president’s leadership while speaking at the party’s Thank You Tour, adding that his many contributions to the advancement of the country would eventually be acknowledged and valued.
Dr. Bawumia claims that during Nana Akufo-Addo’s presidency, the Ghanaian economy underwent substantial change in a number of sectors.
“History will be kind to President Akufo-Addo for the bold decisions he made for the benefit of our country,” he said.
Even if some of the projects may have drawn criticism, he emphasized that future generations would look back and celebrate the foundations that Akufo-Addo created.
Dr. Bawumia, who was vice president during Akufo-Addo’s presidency, outlined important accomplishments like the introduction of free senior high school education, the digitization of public services, and significant infrastructural initiatives.
He asserted that these were investments for Ghana’s future rather than merely policies for the present. The NPP is still dedicated to laying the strong foundation laid under Akufo-Addo’s administration, he further reassured supporters.
Dr. Bawumia concluded by urging Ghanaians to keep supporting the NPP, promising that the party was prepared to make even more progress.
“We are grateful for your trust, and we pledge to continue working tirelessly for the prosperity of our nation,” he stated.
