Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the former vice president and 2024 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has apologized to Ghanaians for the failures of the NPP-led government and asked for their faith to be restored in the run-up to the general elections.

During a London engagement, Dr. Bawumia acknowledged that while the NPP had achieved great progress in governance, it had also committed some noteworthy errors.

In an open and thoughtful manner, he stated: “The NPP did a lot of work, there’s no doubt about that, but we did not get everything right. We got quite a few things wrong, and I think that, on my own behalf, on behalf of the party and the government, I apologise to all of you for us not getting the things right that we should have gotten.”

He reassured Ghanaians that the party has reflected on its mistakes and is determined to improve if re-elected.

“I believe that if by the grace of God, we have another opportunity I believe that we will get many things right, because we have learnt the lessons of where we are going,” he stated.

He reassured Ghanaians that the party has reflected on its mistakes and is determined to improve if re-elected.

He continued, “I think that if we are given another chance by God’s grace, we will do a lot of things correctly because we have learned the lessons of where we are going.”

Following the NPP’s dismal defeat in the 2024 elections, Dr. Bawumia made these statements.
