The plaintiff, Rockson-Nelson Etse Dafeamekpor, a South Dayi MP, has a lawyer named Nii Kpakpo Samoa Addo has disputed the story of a court bailiff who testified before the Supreme Court that the plaintiff’s legal team did not receive a process from the court.

The court bailiff, who took the witness box under oath, told the justices that Mr. Samoa Addo had directed staff at his legal office not to receive the court documents.

“This bailiff called in the morning at exactly 10:50 am yesterday [March 26]. At that time, I was not in the office…so I sent him the number of Mr. Rockson and said, Call Mr. Rockson and serve him with whatever process you have. He received the message at 10:57 am, acknowledged and said received with thanks,” Samoa Addo explained.

“That was the last I heard from the said bailiff,” he said, adding that the bailiff came to his office but he was not aware that he was [being] filmed by the CCTV cameras.

“I have released the CCTV recording of his entire period within our office, including the voice audio for you to listen to exactly the interaction between himself and my front desk staff.”

Samoa Addo reports that the bailiff placed the court documents on a table and departed without giving any prior notice, describing the interaction between the personnel and the bailiff as straightforward.

“He should wait for me to arrive because I wasn’t in the office at that specific time, my front desk staff informed him, citing my name on it. Then he informed them that he was going to make a phone and then come back.He said, “He left the process there and never came back. Nobody had signed the document.

On March 27, the Supreme Court denied Dafeamekpor’s request for an injunction to prevent Parliament from approving President Akufo-Addo’s nominees for ministers.

The supreme court declared unanimously that the plea for an injunction was frivolous and an abuse of the legal system.
