Dr Frank Amoakohene, the nominee for Ashanti Regional Minister, has promised to use his social media channels to interact with people in the region and advance good government.

According to Mr. Amoakohene, it is essential that he use his online presence to promote growth and encourage youth to take part in the advancement of the area.

He made this statement on Monday, January 27, when he was vetted before the Appointments Committee of Parliament.

As he reflected on his involvement with youth leadership, Amoakohene observed that community interaction had changed dramatically.

My father used to take me to the community center when I was younger so that I could play there, ‘Ludo’, ‘Dame’ among others. In recent times, those centers do not exist. There’s a new society known as social media, where we get the opportunity to share ideas and also to interact,” he said.

He clarified that his active participation on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok has given him the ability to properly comprehend and interact with the young of the area.

The nominee gave the committee his word that he would support the government’s developmental program and advocate for good governance using his sizable social media following.

“I want to assure the house that I’m not going to overly rely on social media. However, the platforms will be available so that the youth who would want to reach me can still send a message, and there will be a team there who will look at the messages and draw my attention, in order that I will be able to assist them when need be,” he added.

He also outlined plans to keep a responsive staff to guarantee that issues brought up on these platforms are resolved quickly, highlighting his dedication to openness and youthful involvement.
