The highly anticipated schedule for the presidential and vice presidential debates in the run-up to the elections on December 7 has been made public by the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA).

The first presidential debate is scheduled for Tuesday, October 22, 2024, while the second debate is scheduled for Tuesday, November 19, 2024, according to the IEA.

The scheduled date of the vice presidential debate is Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

Among its election-related programs, the IEA will also present five “Evening Encounters,” which are intended to give presidential candidates a direct forum for communication with the public.

The last meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 15, 2024, with the events beginning on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.

John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the major National Democratic Congress (NDC), has stated that he would not be taking part in the IEA debates.

The party justified the move by raising doubts about the IEA’s credibility.
