If I were president, I would sell off loss-making SIGA to the private sector – Franklin Cudjoe

“If I were president, I would sell off all these loss-making companies to the private sector for growth. Collapse SIGA, sell these companies, and then SIGA becomes redundant. We need to focus on productive efforts,” Franklin Cudjoe stated.

Franklin Cudjoe, the founding president of IMANI Africa, has demanded that the State Interest and Governance Authority (SIGA) be dissolved immediately.

He said that SIGA has devolved into a “wasting enterprise” that serves only as an observer over failing State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and produces no useful output.

“If you direct all these state-wasting resources to companies that are returning losses, what will SIGA do? SIGA is only there to supervise companies that are not performing well,” he said.

He revealed this in an interview on Wednesday’s Dwaso Nsem morning program on Adom FM, in response to tidings that some state-owned enterprises are losing money.

For this reason, the president of IMANI voiced dissatisfaction with the state’s engagement in these companies.

“Any time the state is involved, they waste time and resources. We don’t need to waste time; SIGA should be collapsed,” he said.

Instead, Mr. Cudjoe recommended taking a more assertive stance.
