Joseph Yamin, the National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has been informed that the party has devised a plan to counteract any attempts at electoral tampering in advance of the national elections in December.
The ruling New Patriotic Party is allegedly using any methods necessary, including vote-stealing, to win elections. The party says it has taken note of these remarks.
Speaking on Kumasi’s Ultimate Breakfast Show, NDC national organizer Joseph Yamin issued a warning, saying that should the New Patriotic Party adopt any questionable action, the NDC is prepared to respond with equal vigor.
“When they were coming to power, they said the battle is the Lords but now they say the battle is rigging. Sammy Awuku makes a statement that we will win the election with a strategy. What strategy is that?” Yamin quizzed.
“We will steal if they steal,” he declared to host Julius Caesar Anadem. We will rig if there is a way to regrettably install Mahamudu Bawumia as president through manipulation.
He insisted, “You think I became national organizer to clap for the NPP to rig elections? “, refusing to take back the statement. I come to win the NDC and Ghanaian elections.
He referred to it as the “stealing for stealing challenge” and called for a revolution to free Ghana from the New Patriotic Party’s oppressive hold.
We’ll play it fair if they play it fair, but we’ll rig it if they do. Whatever happens, Ghana’s second independence will be guaranteed.
On your program, I am now announcing a revolution. A thumb-based revolution instead of a gun-based one.
“Have you seen what happened in Kenya? The youth will stand up and fight this government through the proper channel.”
“Whatever means they think can make Mahamudu Bawumia a president, we understand that system better than them,” he stated.
Calls for a presidential debate, made by Henry Nana Boakye, the national organizer of the NPP, were also characterized by Joseph Yamin as “a waste of time.”
