Over the weekend, Finance Minister Dr. Amin Adam criticized former President John Dramani Mahama, arguing that his inexperience in handling crises will cause worse economic unrest in Ghana should he be elected president on December 7.
Dr. Adam encouraged supporters of Dr. Mahmood Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate, and urged them to reject the opposition NDC while speaking at the NPP Bantama Constituency campaign kickoff following the Bantama Big Walk.
Dr. Amin Adam, speaking to a raucous audience of party supporters, forecast better living circumstances for Ghanaians should Bawumia win the presidency.
“When Dr. Mahmood Bawumia becomes president, all the people of Ghana will feel improved living conditions,” he said. “You will feel it in your lives, you will feel it in your pockets, and you will feel it in your homes.”
The finance minister then turned his focus to the NDC and its flagbearer, John Mahama, accusing the former president of lacking the necessary experience to manage economic crises. “As I speak to you, ladies and gentlemen, the NDC has not seen crisis before. So, John Mahama doesn’t have experience on how to take Ghana out of crisis,” Dr. Adam asserted.
He issued a warning that the country’s economic circumstances would deteriorate if Mahama were to win the next 2024 elections. “If you vote for John Mahama, Ghana will sink into crisis after crisis after crisis,” he cautioned, emphasizing that the NDC lacked the expertise to resolve economic challenges.
As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) prepares for the general elections of 2024, the campaign start was a momentous occasion for them in the Bantama Constituency. The purpose of Dr. Adams’ speech was to present the NPP and Dr. Bawumia as the best candidates to lead Ghana through its current economic challenges in an attempt to garner more support for them.
In the Ashanti Region, a crucial NPP stronghold ahead of the elections on December 7, the Bantama Big Walk, which brought hundreds of party supporters, was viewed as a display of strength.
