Kennedy Agyapong, a flagbearer candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), claims the party is aware of his readiness to serve as president.

Speaking on Tuesday, September 23, following his vetting in Accra, the prominent politician and businessman said he was confident in his performance and that the party recognized his potential.

“I was prepared. Agyapong said, “I believe I answered all the questions and they know I’m ready to be president of this country.”

He disclosed that the vetting panel was very curious to know why he was running for president and what his goals were for the NPP and Ghana.

“They really wanted to know why I want to be president and my vision for the country, as well as the party. So I enumerated a couple of points on how I’m going to address some problems,” he explained.

Agyapong claims that the interview procedure was courteous and equitable. Although the questions were difficult and pertinent, he pointed out that they were not combative.

They already knew my potential, so they didn’t agitate me. However, they posed concrete and logical queries. They weren’t hostile to me,” he stated.

Agyapong, who has been with the NPP for many years, claims he feels a strong sense of belonging to the party and that his record speaks for itself.

“They didn’t antagonise me because they know my potential already. But they asked tangible and reasonable questions. They were not hostile to me,” he stated.

As the NPP gets ready for the national elections in 2028, Agyapong is one of the front-runners for the position of flagbearer.
