In order to meet the goal set by the Ashanti regional chairman to win 85% of the region’s popular votes, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the vice presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has challenged party supporters to go above and beyond.

When the NPP is determined to contribute to the realization of the same, nothing, according to Dr. Opoku-Prempeh, can stop them from accomplishing such an achievement.

At the party’s campaign team launch on Sunday at Rattray Park in Kumasi, Dr. Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, spoke to party supporters and groups that support the NPP. He said that the NPP outperforms the biggest opposition party in every development program and that this will help the people keep the NPP in power.

“We in the NPP have a solid record in the 8 years Nana Akufo-Addo has been in power and our record remains unmatched due to the various development we’ve led in every sector of the economy”, Napo stated.

Regarding education, Dr. Napo stated that nearly all JHS students who take the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) are able to enroll in secondary school thanks to the free senior high school program that the NPP administration implemented in 2017.

Dr. Napo stated that these children now have access to SHS Education, as opposed to the over 100,000 pupils who were forced to sit at the home whenever the BECE examinations were given for lack of access.

Because the NPP administration is building 111 facilities around the nation, the vice-presidential candidate for the party said that by the end of the year, access to healthcare will be unheard of.

“In every sector including Education and Health, the NPP is unmatched and our record speaks for us having achieved the best results in WASSCE in 2020 after the roll out of the free SHS which has increased access and performances. Aside that we are also constructing the largest health infrastructure where 111 hospitals would be finished by end of year to take care of health issues in Ghana “, Napo said.

The NPP’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, swore in and inaugurated the campaign teams and committees, urging the participants to dedicate themselves to the upcoming duties.

As they assumed their positions, he requested that they act with selflessness and sacrifice.

To help the party reach its goal of 85% of Ashanti’s popular votes and all of the region’s parliamentary seats, the regional chairman urged all of the party’s members to unite and work hard.

“It is possible to win 85% of the popular votes in Ashanti and win all the 47 Parliamentary seats if we commit to do our best in selling our message to the people in the region through strategic campaigns starting today”, the regional Chairman charged.
