On Monday, December 2, some youths who were not identifiable threw stones at Asantehene’s motorcade in Techiman.
The attack is being investigated, according to the Ghana Police Service.
Across the country, there is a great deal of anxiety over the incident that happened in the Bono East Region.
A preliminary police report states that an unidentified young person, thought to be from Techiman, threw stones at some of the convoy’s busses as the Asantehene’s convoy was making its way back to Kumasi following a burial in Nkoranza.
In an effort to obtain additional information and ease any possible tensions following the event, the police have contacted the Manhyia Palace and local Techiman stakeholders.
Therefore, as investigations continue, the police have asked the public to maintain their composure.
