Jachie Pramso Senior High School(JAPASS) over the weekend organised a Speech and Prize Giving Day in honour of deserving teachers, staff, and students whose contributions have catapulted the school to achieve academic excellence.
For the first time in the history of the school, they also honoured a section of the old students for their invaluable contributions towards the success story of the school.
The ceremony with the theme ” the relevance of the current educational system to national development: its priorities and renewed aspirations for the Ghanaian child” was solely sponsored by the old students of the school.
In an address, the President of Jachie Pramso Senior High School Old Students Association, Mr George Ernest Asare high highlighted some of the achievements of the Association and said they were committed to do more to sustain academic excellence of the school.
He said in spite of the short notice to members on the 54th Speech and Prize Giving Day being held today, you responded positively and made valuable contributions to the organisers.
This explains why we had the needed funds to give the school such a bright outlook.
We are, therefore, grateful to all members whose contributions made it possible for us to converge to organise such a memorable event to honour our hard-working staff and deserving students.
“As old students, we should continue to strive to support our alma mater to achieve excellence in all fields of endeavor,” he declared.
“It is this reason that we have decided to develop a Smart Block, which will act as a digital library for our students,” He explained.
He noted that they had started consultations on the project, hoping to arrive at a budget for us to brief you on the modalities of the project for it to come alive.
For his part, the headmaster of the school, Mr Benjamin Kye Ampadu, assured to initiate a programme that would transform the school to be a first-class institution of choice in the country.
The Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, who is an old student, urged students to develop can-do spirits that would catapult them to always strive for the best.
He also urged the old students to initiate projects that would motivate students to unearth their potential.
For his part, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah also urged students to be disciplined and focused to enable them achieve excellence in all endeavors of their lives.
